Kaytlin’s academic focus centers identity, health, and well-being. She is currently recruiting for an interactive book project that will showcase people from all over the world and share stories of gender, sexuality, power, language, family dynamics, religion, and more.

Kaytlin has consulted on large social change initiatives for both non-profits and city governments, including efforts to reduce and end homelessness in Framingham, MA and Montgomery, AL as well as efforts to increase public health awareness, outreach, education, and resource utilization among all residents in Worcester, MA.

Previously faculty at Boston University, teaching global health and social justice courses in the Health Science undergraduate department, she emphasized the importance of strong communities, meeting individual and social needs, and promoting intercultural literacy and humility within her teaching practice.

Additionally, Kaytlin has worked in the non-profit and social justice sectors on a multitude of projects including systems development, program implementation, volunteer management, and event planning. Kaytlin has worked on anti-fracking campaigns and voter registration campaigns. She was an advocate for financial assistance on behalf of low-income families with children experiencing serious illness requiring treatment plans that were financially out of reach. She has directed public service announcements for local news stations as well as developed ordinance and policy briefs for childhood alcohol consumption prevention.

In her free time, she is an avid traveler and photography enthusiast. Having traveled to 6 continents, she hopes to see all world wonders, including old, new, and natural while meeting amazing people and enjoying the world’s best food along the way.

Kaytlin received her B.A. in Global Health and Social Entrepreneurship from Mercer University and her Master’s in Public Health, concentrating in Global Health from Boston University. Born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia, she now lives in Seattle, Washington with her wife and two dogs.
